Snapseed Fun

Snapseed Fun 1

I’m neither a professional photographer nor great at editing. However, I love to play around with photos and editing. I was introduced to try using Snapseed by my lovely friend Julia few months back I believe, but I never knew how it worked and I wasn’t into this app at that time. Somehow I wanted to give it go and see how it works after using my mobile to take this picture. At that time, I just wanted to see whether this mobile app was able to make some magic on the picture I didn’t like. Surprisingly, I liked it due to the fact that the app was pretty fun to play with. I know a lot of photographers don’t like their pictures to be edited too much (so am I even though I’m not a professional photographer), but I think this kind of editing app is very fun to play with from time to time and make it easy for those who don’t like complicated editing tools 🙂

Day 3 – 5 Day Black & White/ Monochrome Photo Challenge

Canal 1

The first time I traveled to Amsterdam, I instantly felt in love with it. I can hardly explain the love I have for this unique place and therefore I created quite a lot of artworks using Amsterdam as the background of my artworks to express my feelings and love. I saw tons of beautiful scenery and architectures there, but nothing could compare to its canals. I remembered when I was sitting on their famous dinner cruise exploring the city, I saw one of the most gorgeous scenes I have ever seen in my life. It was when the canal lights started to light up and its reflections hit the river created one of the most gorgeous abstract arts. It’s 2 years already, but this scene is still stuck in my mind. ❤

When Spring Brings In Good Old Memories

I always thought what I love the most about Spring was only when the plants went luscious green and the flowers started blooming. It is a scene I always fancy since it gives me rejuvenating feelings which I feel like everything has begun to reborn. I still have the same feelings about it. However, my thoughts about Spring has changed slightly when I walked pass Clausena Lansium tree my grandfather planted unintentionally long back. He threw a seed of Clausena Lansium in our backyard after having the fruits of Clausena Lansium more than twenty years ago and it somehow grew into a big Clausena Lansium tree. Unfortunately, he can’t be here to see this tree is still going strong even after so many years. However, I’m glad that my grandfather left this precious gift to my grandmother who can still feel his presence and spirits through this luscious tree. I know it means more than just a gift. In fact, it is what feeds her soul. It seriously means a lot to her. I truly hope the tree keeps growing healthily! Also, I would like to thank the sun and the bees for taking extra care of this precious tree apart from the massive amount of care she has been putting into! ❤ Moreover, I would like to thank Spring for bringing me good old memories which made it extra special! 😉

Day 2 – 5 Day Black & White/ Monochrome Photo Challenge

Kangaroo 1

Many of you have been following me for a while should know I’m a cat lover. I wouldn’t say I’m a crazy cat lady, but I definitely love cat. Sometimes I tend to treat other animals like the way I treat my cats which I love tickling them for real (my bad) 😀 For some reasons, I reacted the same when I saw the kangaroo in the picture which I seriously wanted to tickle him. However, my inner voice stopped me from doing so as I knew how harmful it could be if I were being kicked by him 😛 😛 😛

I’m curious to know any of you who tend to treat other animals like the way you treat your pet/ pets.

Magical Instant Boost

Sunset

I always try my best to stay as positive as I can, but I must say I also have one of those days not feeling my best…feeling moody…feeling a bit down…Whenever I encounter such an unpleasant mood attack, I usually take eating as a kind of therapy to cure my mood swing. The day I shot this picture was exactly the day I was feeling a bit down because I wasn’t really happy with my job searching situation.  So, same as usual I just wanted to eat. I felt like eating fish meat siu mai all of the sudden even I just finished having late lunch not long ago. The moment I stepped outside the train station to go buy siu mai was when the magical moment happened. I saw a marvelous sky doing its dancing show beautifully. Seriously,it has never happened in where I live before. I felt like God has well listened to my inner voice which he knows how much I love beautiful skies and therefore he made it happen to uplift my mood. I’m honestly blessed and grateful for this wonderful gift. It somehow told me no matter how bad the situation can get, there is always something positive waiting for you. 🙂

As promised before, riddle answers will be posted this week. Here it is:

1. Dragon

2. Goat/Ram/Sheep

3. Thermometer

Congratulations to those who got all of them right 😉

Day 1 – 5 Day Black & White/ Monochrome Photo Challenge

I don’t usually participate in any type of challenges because I’m a type pf person who enjoys free flow and do things when my mood urges. However, I was asked by Jithin and Ady to participate in monochrome photo challenge few months back when I was busy dealing with uncle’s funeral. I was very impressed by both of their warm invitation and  I thought I would do it when everything gets back to normal. Then, I was nominated by Julia to participate in a 5 day/5 story black & white photo challenge few days ago. Honestly, I couldn’t be more honored and blessed to be nominated by all of them ❤ . They are incredibly humble, loving and talented friends who take phenomenal pictures and write beautifully. Please check out their blogs and I’m sure they will never let you disappointed 😉

Plaza ceiling 1_1.1

I found the ceiling of a shopping mall fascinating right after I finished watching a movie and therefore I quickly took a snap of it. This picture reminded me to cherish every single moment and everything I have. You might wonder why a ceiling could lead me to have such thoughts. Sometimes, we tend to forget what we’ve already had and take things for granted. Please take me as an example. I never thought the action of looking up could be that precious to me until I was terribly disturbed by having a neck pain which hindered me from looking up and down. Glad my neck is finally getting better after almost 2 weeks. 🙂

The rules of the 5 Photos-5 Stories challenge are:
1) To post a photo every day for 5 days
2) To write a story to accompany your photo for 5 days (this can be fiction or non-fiction, a page, a paragraph or a poem)
3) To nominate a different person each day

Although one of the rules is to nominate a different person each day, I’m not going to nominate anyone. Just join me in this challenge if you are interested all my lovely friends ❤

Unexpectedly Festive

I couldn’t believe I actually went out and celebrated Lantern Festival yesterday as I didn’t like any crowded places. I was very surprised that it wasn’t as crowded as I imagined and it was way more festive than I thought it would be. I felt like having a dream when I was surrounded by all these stunning lanterns. ❤ I guess I shouldn’t talk too much and let you enjoy its beauty. 😛

Today is the 15th of Chinese New Year (CYN) and last day of celebrating CYN. This is the day we celebrate Lantern Festival starting the day with dragon and lion dancing. Later in the evening, many colourful lanterns will be lit as a part of celebration and riddles will also written on some of the lanterns traditionally.

Few days ago, I found a shopping mall in Hong Kong actually took the traditional concept to spice up the mall by displaying electric lanterns with riddles on them. I immediately took some quick snaps for you all to enjoy. I think it would be fun if you could try solving the riddles. 😉

Although it is Lantern Festival today, some consider this special day as Chinese Valentine’s Day because of the romantic vibes given by the beautiful lanterns.

Obviously, we can’t end the day without eating something sweet. We eat glutinous rice balls to symbolize having unity and harmony in family while enjoying the stunning full moon.

Happy Lantern Festival/ Chinese Valentine’s Day all my lovely friends! ❤
